Why?

Because I can, and we should. The organizations I feature here on REMAKERS deserve as much attention as we can bring them. I love to draw, and make posters and I don’t get to do as much of that in my day job as I’d like. Selfishly, REMAKERS is a great outlet for the rest of my energies.

Are you a non-profit?

Nope. Someday REMAKERS may become an official 501c3 non-profit but for now it’s just a project, or an overgrown hobby.

So I can’t deduct my purchase from my taxes?

Nope. Sorry, no deductions from REMAKERS. Though you should definitely give money directly to any of the organizations listed here.

It’s kind of an odd assortment of organizations. How do you pick?

The beauty of being a small (2 person) operation is we pick stuff that inspires us. Sometimes that’s a small organization promoting organic farming, and sometimes it’s a global initiative led by a multinational organization.

If you give all your profits to charity… doesn’t that mean you don’t make any money?

You got it. We make zero dollars doing this. We’re currently crunching all the numbers to find the exact cost of operations and goods vs sale cost vs donation amount. It’s averaging out to be about $12 per shirt & per poster that is passed directly to the organizations. The numbers change per complexity of design, and materials used.

How much have you donated? When does the money go out?

We’ve been live for about 2 weeks now (as of Dec 13). We’ve raised just over $1000 for charity!!! We will make our donations quarterly. So the end of March we’ll be mailing checks and publishing an official account of operations thus far.
