Southern Sudan Humanitarian (SSH) is a non-profit organization that helps the people of Southern Sudan rebuild their communities since sustaining damage during the region’s long civil war. SSH is run by volunteers, most of whom are Southern Sudanese residents themselves or Sudanese refugees in the United States. The organization works to help the Sudanese attain clean water, health care, orphan care, agricultural success and education.
So far, SSH team members have built wells and pumps in Akobo and Nyamlel, Sudan, provided funds for starvation relief and medical supplies, and enabled the people of southern Sudan to provide for themselves through purchases of fishing equipment, grinding machines, and other items that provide a jump start to self reliance.
